Outage due to downed DNS Server

Hey everybody, sorry for the outage the last 24 hours.

The company I use for DNS servers, widge.net seems to have fallen off the face of the earth.

Since all of their DNS servers were down, I had to switch over to new providers: dnspark.net and everydns.net Then came the slow process of waiting for the new DNS server entries to propogate around the web… Now things are back to normal 🙂

My apolagies to those of you who were affected, I’m going to make sure I have better backup DNS servers in the future so this won’t happen again.

If anyone has experience hosting their own DNS servers, I would appreciate your advice since that is something I would like to be able to do on my own.
